In Loving Memory Poems to honor your Loved One at Christmas time

1.Missing You at Christmas – Author Unknown

There’s a little place within my heart,
that’s with me every day,
a place where all my memories,
are safely tucked away.

It is the perfect place
In my grief for me to go,
for, words alone could not explain,
how very much I miss you so.

And now that once again,
Christmastime has come around,
it’s where the sweetest memories
and thoughts of you are found.

2. Memories of Someone Special at Christmas – Author Unknown

There’s an empty feeling deep within
it just won’t go away
And you know it will come seeping in
especially on Christmas Day
But very special thoughts of you
at least bring happy memories through
They are such a healing balm
to ease a grieving mind
They bring about a sense of calm
They help you to unwind
Priceless gifts to which we clutch
because you’re missed se very much
We just don’t know what life will hold
What lies around the bend
For you were truly solid gold
and grieving hearts will mend
But thoughts of you will never fade
They live where all our dreams were made.

3. Christmas Without You – Author Unknown

How very much you’re missed
I think you somehow know,
For, I feel you beside me
No matter where I go.

To be reminded of you
I don’t have to go that far,
For, every night I see your face
In every shining star.

As every moment passes by
Now that Christmas time is here,
I’ll be thinking of the joy we shared
At this special time of year.

5. My First Christmas In Heaven by Wanda Bencke

I see the countless Christmas trees Around the world below,
With tiny lights, like heaven’s stars, Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, Please wipe away that tear.
For I’m spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs, That people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can’t compare, With the Christmas choir up here.
For I have no words to tell you, The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description, To hear an angel sing.

I can’t tell you of the splendor, Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas, With our Savior, face to face?
I’ll ask Him to light your spirit, As I tell Him of your love;
So then pray for one another, As you lift your eyes above.
Please let your heart be joyful, And let your spirit sing.
For I’m spending Christmas in Heaven, And I’m walking with the King!

I know how much you miss me; I see the pain inside your heart.
But I’m not so far away, We really aren’t apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear,
And be glad I’m spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift From my heavenly home above.
I send you each a memory Of my undying love.
After all “love” is the gift, More precious than pure gold.
It was always most important In the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other As my Father said to do,
For I can’t count the blessings Or the love He has for you.
So have a Merry Christmas and Wipe away that tear.
Remember I’m spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year!

6. Letter to Santa – Author Unknown

Snowflakes softly falling
upon your window they play
Your blankets snug around you,
into sleep you drift away.
I bend to gently kiss you,
when I see that on the floor
There’s a letter, neatly written
I wonder who its for.
I quietly unfold it making
sure you’re still asleep,
It’s a Christmas list for Santa
one my heart will always keep.

It started just as always
with the toys seen on TV,
A new watch for your father
and a winter coat for me.
But as my eyes read on
I could see deep inside
There were many things you wished for
that your loving heart would hide.
You asked if your friend Molly
could have another Dad;
It seems her father hits her
and it makes you very sad.
Then you asked dear Santa
if the neighbors down the street
Could find a job, that they might have some food,
and clothes, and heat.

You saw a family on the news
whose house had blown away,
“Dear Santa, send then just one thing,
a place where they can stay.”
“And Santa, those four cookies
that I left you for a treat.

Could you take them to the children
who have nothing else to eat.”
“Do you know that little bear
I have, the one I love so dear?

I’m leaving it for you to take
to Africa this year.”
And as you fly your reindeer
on this night of Jesus’ birth,
Could your magic bring to everyone
Goodwill and Peace on Earth.”

“There’s one last thing before you go,
so grateful I would be,
If you’d smile at Baby Jesus
in the manger by our tree.”
I pulled the letter close to me’
I felt it melt my heart.

Those tiny hands had written
what no other could impart.
“And a little child shall lead them,”
was whispered in my ear
As I watched you sleep on Christmas Eve
while Santa Claus was here.
